Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain, and injury management. The aim is to locate and repair damaged areas of the body and speed up the body’s healing processes.

Remedial massage can be used to help people with:

•          Neck, shoulder, or back pain

•          Carpal tunnel

•          Repetitive strain injury

•          Shin splints

•          Sports or other injuries

•          Injury prevention

•          Headaches

•          Arthritis

•          Chronic pain

•          Fatigue

•          Anxiety or depression

Your session will begin with a chat about your health history and reason for attending. We then move to an assessment of your posture, range of movement, flexibility and muscle strength and identify any underlying causes or possible conditions that could be contributing to your symptoms. We will then formulate a treatment plan specific to your needs.

During your massage, we will target the problematic areas identified in your assessment to relieve pain and promote healing. We work hard to identify the remedial techniques that will best suit your body—a remedial massage shouldn’t hurt, but there may be some discomfort, especially during deep tissue massage. We aim to ensure your remedial massage experience is a positive one, and we will be in constant communication with you to ensure that you are comfortable.

After your session, we will discuss the issues identified during your session and form a long-term treatment plan if required. We may give you some stretches and exercise to do as ‘homework’ to help stabilise and treat your condition long-term. These are often simple, fast exercises and can usually be done while watching tv. Following the plan formulated by your remedial massage therapist will greatly contribute to the stabilisation and treatment of your condition and ensure the treatments we administer in a clinical setting are more effective.

Prices start from $50 for 30 minutes.
